Exfoliating Peel Pads are one of the best ways to quickly and effectively deliver active ingredients directly into the skin.
Physical Pads use the texture of the pad to Manually Exfoliate the skin. These work like a scrub but are much gentler and soaked with a hydrating, calming serum.
These exfoliate the surface of the skin for a smoother, brighter complexion. There is many types of AHA’s including Lactic, Glycolic, Malic, Mandelic and Citric Acids.
Best for – texture, dull skin, fine lines and discolouration.
These exfoliate both the surface of the skin and the inside of your pores. They are oil soluble which allows them to easily penetrate the pore. BHA’s are labelled as Salicylic Acid or Willow Bark Extract.
Best for – large pores, excess oil, blackheads and acne.
These exfoliate both the surface of the skin and the pores. These are similar to BHA but penetrate the skin more slowly. This makes them more gentle and better suited to sensitive skin or daily use.
Best for – acne prone skin with sensitivities or dry skin types with acne.
These exfoliate the surface of the skin in the same way AHA’s do. These don’t penetrate as deep and work more slowly. This means they’re safer for sensitive skin types or daily use. Look for Gluconolactone, Lactobionic acid, and Maltobionic acid.
Best for – sensitive skin types with texture or dull skin.
There are many ways to use Chemical exfoliants in a lot of different steps of your routine. Here at The Meilee we always want to prioritise keeping the skin healthy and happy.
Our favourite ways to use Acids are gentle, low dose products used regularly. Higher percentage acids have a much higher risk of irritation, damage or mistakes. We suggest leaving these treatments to the professionals.
Peel pads are a favourite for a quick exfoliation without irritation or redness. Our peel pads are formulated to be gentle, smoothing and hydrating. Many of our formulas have calming ingredients like Centella Asiatica, Heartleaf or Ceramides.
You can use these regularly since they use a low percentage of acids. These are best at removing dry skin and texture while brightening the skin.
Peel Pads are a favourite for makeup artists to use before applying makeup on a client. They prep the skin for a smooth, glowy makeup application and prevent texture or cakiness.
Masks and Wash Off Treatments
Masks and wash off treatments usually pack an exfoliation punch. They’re formulated to instantly improve skin texture, pore appearance and dull skin.
There are a lot of variations to these products. Some use high percentages of acids for a weekly or monthly use. Others use lower percentages for regular use.
We love our Sheet Masks with Acids because they’re focused on hydration and skin health on top of exfoliation. These are safe to use 2 or more times a week and improve the overall appearance of your skin.
Leave On Treatments
Leave on treatments with Chemical exfoliation are usually the best for hard to target skin concerns. These are formulated to penetrate the skin slower and deeper than other products. They gradually help with discolouration, acne, blackheads and deeper skin texture.
There’s many differences between each individual product and their formulations. Generally these are the best options to maintain and gradually improve the skin concern over time. They usually won’t have instant effects like other Acid products.
Our Leave On Treatments With Acids target a specific concern like acne, discolouration or signs of aging. These prioritise skin health while improving the skin concern of the use of the entire product.
